Woodcarving from Jeremy Turner

Image
Today's #LiveCreativelyQPAC update comes from artist and tutor Jeremy Turner, who's offered us a fascinating insight into his latest work-in-progress woodcarving.  Here's an introduction from Jeremy:  "I was commissioned to make a memorial for a green burial site in Epping Forest. The person being remembered was a poet and a spinner of threads on her Spinning Wheel. Her favourite animals were the Barn Owl and the Hare.  The brief was to combine the Barn Owl, the Hare and the Spinning Wheel into a carved sculpture that met with the maximum dimension requirements of the burial site.  The series of photographs begins with the evolution of the models for this, the third and final version of the sculpture."
